Everybody’s got a special kind of story Everybody finds a way to shine, It don’t matter that you got not alot So what, They’ll have theirs, and you’ll have yours, and I’ll have mine. And together we’ll be fine….
Because it takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world. Yes it does. It takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world.
I’m just going to say, if I was given the choice between learning the answers to all of the mysteries, or an emotionally satisfying conclusion for the characters, I would have picked character resolution. Hands down.
And what confuses me about the people who disagree is…what POSSIBLY could have kept you watching for six years?
Also, the kid who played Walt GREW UP TOO FAST. We all know that. THAT’S what happened. The writers were just as cheated as we were in terms of Walt. There was no way to bring him back looking like an NBA player. Shit like that happens on TV. So get over it. What, did you expect a Walt answer WITHOUT Walt? Did you just want Jacob or Ben or someone to come out and say “Speaking of Walt, he was blah blah blah. Anyway, back to the island collapsing around us…” That’s what you were hoping for?
Am I frustrated about questions that went unanswered? Quite the opposite. Because that means we get to have detailed debates and conversations about all of our crazy theories forever.
Or at least until we all meet our besties in a sideways-universe church.
Hey. I’ll say it. Because it’s my birthday and I can.
Good for me. A year ago today, I turned 25. I was completely broke, working part time as a receptionist at a Massage Place (proper noun), felt like I had no future in LA and was 100% certain that I was going to move back to Chicago by 2010.
Now? I run a school.
Since my last birthday I…
Become way too busy for my own good.
Made awesome friends.
Ran a marathon with my mom.
Wrote and performed in my own show at both Upright Citizens Brigade and the Comedy Central Stage.
In general remained the coolest guy you’ll ever meet.
Have not gotten out of debt but at least learned to live with it.
So yeah. It’s my day. And I’ll say it. I’m fucking proud of myself.
"Entourage" producer developing a female-driven comedy for HBO.
Because, yeah…a show has to be either male-driven or female-driven. Because God forbid we have more TV shows that feature strong male AND female characters at the same time! In the same place! Interacting with each other!
As a writer, I can tell you firsthand that it is IMPOSSIBLE to do something like that. You either have a show about guys where all the girls are disposable sluts, or you have a show about girls constantly searching for some one-dimensional “Mr Right.” That’s how it is, and that’s how it’s been since the beginning of storytelling.
